USA Homeownership Foundation Receives $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo

USA Homeownership Foundation Receives $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo Foundation to assist Military and Veteran Families with Rental and Mortgage Counseling and Education Due to COVID-19 Crisis

Corona, CA, May 21, 2020 – USA Homeownership Foundation, Inc. DBA Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) today announced a $100,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation which will enable the nonprofit HUD Approved Housing Counseling agency to continue to provide financial education workshops, foreclosure prevention and rental counseling to the military and veteran communities across nationwide during the Covid-19 crisis.

“There are many military and veteran families that need our housing counseling services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Son Nguyen, Founder and President, USA Homeownership Foundation. “We are the only national housing nonprofit that focuses specifically on serving the ones who have served us. This grant comes at a very critical time and we are grateful to the Wells Fargo Foundation for partnering with us to serve our heroes.”

The grant for USA Homeownership Foundation/VAREP is part of the Wells Fargo Foundation’s $175 million commitmentmillion commitment to assist people and communities in response to COVID-19. More than 300 grants have already been made by Wells Fargo since March to help nonprofits provide urgent housing services for vulnerable populations that combined will assist more than 100,000 renters and homeowners facing financial challenges. The Wells Fargo Foundation philanthropy strategy is focused on keeping people in their homes, small business support and financial health in collaboration with national and local organizations.

“During this unprecedented time, too many people including military service members and veterans are struggling financially and facing housing instability,” said Eileen Fitzgerald, head of housing affordability philanthropy with the Wells Fargo Foundation. “Wells Fargo has a deep commitment to advance housing affordability solutions.
